وكالة الناس – تُعتبر واحة أيلة من أبرز المشاريع العقارية والسياحية الرائدة في العقبة، حيث تعكس التزامًا حقيقيًا بمبادئ الاستدامة البيئية والحفاظ على الموارد البحرية. تضم أيلة ثلاث بحيرات اصطناعية متكاملة تسهم في تعزيز التنوع البيولوجي، مع توفير بيئة بحرية مثالية قريبة من الحالة الطبيعية لمياه الخليج. وتتمثل رؤية أيلة في تحقيق تنمية مستدامة متوازنة تجمع بين التطوير العقاري والسياحة الراقية وبين الحفاظ على النظم البيئية الحساسة في خليج العقبة.
وبهذا الشأن، أظهرت الدراسة التي نُشرت في مجلة Sustainability بعنوان ” Ayla Oasis Lagoons: A Model for Ecological Sustainability and Marine Conservation in Aqaba, Jordan” للباحث في علوم البحار الدكتور علي السوالمه من محطة العلوم البحرية- الجامعة الأردنية، أن بحيرات أيلة تمتلك نظامًا بيئيًا ديناميكيًا ومستدامًا، يتميز بجودة عالية لمياه البحر ورسوبيات القاع، فضلاً عن احتضانها لعدد كبير من الكائنات البحرية.
تُعتبر مجلة “Sustainability” الصادرة عن MDPI ومقرها سويسرا، واحدة من أبرز المجلات العلمية العالمية في مجال التنمية المستدامة، حيث تُصنّف المجلة ضمن الفئة Q1 في قاعدة البيانات Scopus وتم إدراجها في قاعدة البيانات Web of Science (Clarivate)، مما يؤكد جودة بحوثها والمعايير العالية المتبعة في عملية التحكيم العلمي.
وكشفت الدراسة أن زمن التجدّد المائي في بحيرات أيلة يتراوح بين 2.4 و3.7 أيام، مما يضمن تدفقًا مائيًا متجددًا يحافظ على جودة المياه وصحة النظام البيئي. حيث تعتمد بحيرات أيلة الاصطناعية على نظام ضخ متطور لمياه البحر من خليج العقبة باعتماد كامل على الطاقة الشمسية، ما يسهم في الحد من أي تأثيرات بيئية سلبية.
وأظهرت التحليلات الفنية لجودة الرسوبيات أن البحيرات تتمتع ببيئة صحية داعمة للتنوع البيولوجي البحري. فقد تم رصد أكثر من 2343 سمكة تنتمي إلى 22 نوعًا مختلفًا ضمن 17 عائلة بحرية، الأمر الذي يعكس ثراء الحياة البحرية داخل بحيرات أيلة. علاوةً على ذلك، تم تسجيل تنوع غني في الكائنات اللافقارية مثل “قنافذ البحر” و”خيار البحر”، ما يشير إلى نجاح بيئة البحيرات في تحقيق التوازن البيئي المستدام.
وصرح المهندس سهل دودين، المدير التنفيذي لواحة أيلة “نحن فخورون بأن بحيرات أيلة أصبحت مثالًا يُحتذى به في الحفاظ على البيئة البحرية وتعزيز الاستدامة. هذه الدراسة تؤكد نجاح نموذجنا في تحقيق التنمية بيئيًا، مما يعكس رؤيتنا لمستقبل مستدام يوازن بين التطوير العقاري وحماية الموارد الطبيعية.”
وأضاف دودين “إن المشاريع العقارية والسياحية يمكن أن تكون شريكًا في حماية البيئة لا عبئًا عليها، والتزامنا بالاستدامة يتجسد في كل تفاصيل بحيرات أيلة ومحطات الطاقة المتجددة وسياسات الشركة. وسنواصل العمل على تطوير مبادرات بيئية تضمن استدامة مواردنا البحرية للأجيال القادمة.”
وضمن التزامها بالحفاظ على البيئة البحرية، أطلقت أيلة مشروعًا متكاملًا لاستزراع وحماية الشعاب المرجانية، حيث قامت بإنشاء 5 مشاتل مرجانية، بالإضافة إلى 166 كرة مرجانية وهيكلين معدنيين لتعزيز التنوع البيولوجي البحري. ويُعد هذا المشروع نموذجًا يحتذى به في مجال الاستدامة البيئية، حيث تم اختيار مواقع المشاتل المرجانية بعناية لضمان أقصى معدلات النجاح لاستعادة المرجان. كما يشارك فريق من الباحثين وخبراء الأحياء البحرية في متابعة تطور المشروع، وضمان تحقيق نتائج مستدامة تدعم استمرارية نمو الشعاب المرجانية.
وقد أظهرت النتائج الأولية نجاح المشروع في توفير بيئة ملائمة لنمو الشعاب المرجانية، حيث سجلت معدلات بقاء مرتفعة في العديد من مواقع الزراعة. كما يتم إجراء عمليات مراقبة دورية لضمان استمرار نجاح المشروع، حيث يتم قياس عوامل مثل معدلات نمو الشعاب، والتغيرات البيئية، والتأثيرات المناخية لضمان استدامة النظام البيئي البحري داخل البحيرات فضلاً عن استخدام تقنيات متطورة لمتابعة صحة النظام البيئي واتخاذ الإجراءات التصحيحية عند الحاجة.
يشار إلى أن أيلة تلتزم بأعلى معايير الاستدامة البيئية، وحازت بهذا الشأن على تقدير دولي مرموق إذ حصدت شهادة “العلم الأزرق”، وهي شهادة دولية تُمنح للمواقع الساحلية التي تحقق معايير صارمة في جودة المياه، الإدارة البيئية، السلامة العامة، والتعليم البيئي وفي عدة مواقع داخل أيلة وتضم شاطئ B12 وشاطئ لابلاج في فندق حياة ريجنسي، مرسى أيلة، وشاطئ ماما غايا..

كما وحصد نادي أيلة للجولف مؤخراً 4 جوائز عالمية في قطاع الاستدامة من جوائز “Sustainable Luxury Awards 2024” شملت جائزة أكثر ملاعب الجولف من 18 حفرة استدامة على مستوى المنطقة، وجائزة أكثر ملاعب الجولف الصحراوية استدامة على مستوى العالم، وجائزة أكثر ملاعب الجولف الجبلية استدامة على المستوى المحلي وجائزة أكثر ملاعب بطولات الجولف استدامة على مستوى منطقة الشرق الأوسط .

Sustainability Magazine Highlights Lagoons as a Model for Sustainability and Marine Conservation

Ayla Oasis is one of Aqaba’s premier real estate and tourism developments, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and marine conservation. Ayla features three interconnected artificial lagoons that enhance biodiversity while closely replicating the natural marine conditions of the Gulf. The project aims to balance luxury tourism and real estate development with the protection of Aqaba’s delicate ecosystems.
A recent scientific study published in Sustainability, a leading international journal—highlights Ayla’s lagoons as a model for ecological sustainability. Titled “Ayla Oasis Lagoons: A Model for Ecological Sustainability and Marine Conservation in Aqaba, Jordan”, the study was conducted by marine scientist Dr. Ali Al-Sawalmih from the Marine Science Station at The University of Jordan. The findings confirm that Ayla’s lagoons maintain a dynamic and sustainable ecosystem, characterized by high seawater quality, healthy seabed sediments, and a thriving marine habitat.
Sustainability, published by MDPI in Switzerland, is a globally respected journal in sustainable development. It holds a Q1 ranking in Scopus and is indexed in Web of Science (Clarivate), reflecting its rigorous peer-review process and high research standards.
The study revealed that Ayla’s lagoons have a water renewal cycle of 2.4 to 3.7 days, ensuring continuous water exchange that maintains both quality and ecosystem health. An advanced seawater pumping system supplies fresh water from the Gulf of Aqaba powered by solar energy, minimizing potential environmental impacts.
Eng. Sahl Dudin, Managing Director of Ayla Oasis, stated: “We are proud that Ayla’s lagoons have become a model for marine conservation and sustainability. Sediment analysis confirmed that the lagoons provide a healthy environment supporting rich marine biodiversity. Researchers recorded over 2,343 fish from 22 species across 17 marine families, demonstrating a thriving ecosystem. Additionally, a diverse range of invertebrates, including sea urchins and sea cucumbers, were observed, further indicating a well-balanced habitat.
As part of its commitment to marine conservation, Ayla launched a comprehensive coral reef restoration initiative. The project includes five coral nurseries, 166 coral balls, and two metal reef structures to enhance biodiversity. The carefully selected nursery locations maximize coral restoration success. A team of marine biologists and researchers closely monitors the project, ensuring sustainable growth and long-term viability.
This initiative aligns with Ayla’s long-term environmental strategy, aimed at protecting and restoring coral reefs while supporting scientific research on marine ecosystems. Initial results indicate high coral survival rates in multiple nursery sites. Continuous monitoring assesses coral growth, environmental changes, and climate impacts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the lagoon’s ecosystem. Advanced technology is also used to track ecosystem health and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ayla’s commitment to environmental sustainability has earned it prestigious international recognition, including the Blue Flag certification—an esteemed global eco-label awarded to coastal sites that meet strict standards for water quality, environmental management, safety, and education.
