Paul David Wins Sharma Meadows Golf Cup

The Sharma Meadows Golf Cup, which recently concluded in Ayla, marked the kickoff of the Ayla Golf Club’s activities for 2024. The tournament, jointly organized by Ayla Oasis Development Company and Sharma Meadows Golf Club in Saudi Arabia, featured high-caliber competitions across various categories, drawing participation from 42 golfers, including both professionals and amateurs from multiple countries.
Paul David secured the championship with an impressive performance, amassing 41 points. He faced stiff competition from Gavin Van Tonder, who also scored 40 points, and Xavier Farrington, who gathered 39 points.
Callum Pennie claimed the title for the longest drive, while Peter Murphy took home the prize for the fastest shot.
Participants expressed their delight at the competitive atmosphere, the broad international presence, and the outstanding performance of golfers from diverse countries. They appreciated the opportunity to learn from different experiences in the realm of golf.
Those partaking in the Sharma Meadows Cup commended the facilities of the Ayla Golf Academy and the globally acclaimed golf course. They expressed their eagerness to engage in more upcoming events and tournaments, as well as their interest in becoming members of the Ayla Golf Club.
Ayla Oasis Managing Director, Sahl Dudin, commended the tournament’s notable success. He highlighted the excellent organization and competitive events that enhance the capabilities of Jordanian players by providing them the opportunity to compete with players from around the world.
Dudin pointed out that participants, whether members of Ayla or national players, as well as those coming from the city of Neom in Saudi Arabia and Sharma Meadows Club, demonstrated a high level of professionalism. This sets the stage for early preparations for prestigious events, both in Ayla and external competitions.
